At Mark Twain Elementary, our students participate in the Accelerated Reader Program through Renaissance Place. Accelerated Reader is a program that allows students to read and test on books that are appropriate for their current reading level. Our library's books are color-coded to correspond the the student's STAR test grade equivalent scores.

Dark Green dot: 0.0 - 1.0

Yellow dot: 1.1 - 1.5

Red dot: 1.6 - 2.0

Dark Blue dot: 2.1 - 2.5

Pink dot: 2.6 - 3.0

Orange dot: 3.1 - 3.5

Light Blue dot: 3.6 - 4.0

Light Green dot: 4.1 - 4.5

Purple dot: 4.6 - 5.0

White dot: 5.1 - 6.9

Black dot: 7.0 - 12.0

 As a parent, you have the ability to set up notifications so that you are notified when your child takes an AR (Accelerated Reader) test at school. You are also able to access your child's average quiz score and current AR point balance, as well as see what your child is reading at school.
